We like to believe that performance is purely physical- training, genetics and discipline. But psychology tends to say otherwise.

The concept called enclothed cognition, which suggests that what we wear can influence how we think, feel and behave in sports. When athletes put on their kit, something changes. It’s not just about the fabric, it’s also about the identity.

Brands such as Nike and adidas don’t just sell clothing, they sell confidence. Power, belonging and sport. When you wear performance gear, you don’t only look like an athlete, you feel like one.

Feeling like an athlete encourages you to stand taller, prepare better, focus more intensely and act with intention.

The concept of compression clothing, where the science on performance benefits is mixed, often makes athletes feel  stronger and more secure. The psychological edge alone improves performance.

Our bodies follow our minds

What you wear wont replace training, but it can achieve identity and identity drives performance
